The official 2026 rate for 80%, spouse and one child under 18, with no dependent parents or additional SMC, is $2,406.15 per month. The rates are effective December 1, 2025. Twelve full months at this unchanged rate total $28,873.80. This is a simple annual illustration, not a guarantee of twelve payable months or a 2027 rate. Dependency additions generally require a combined rating of at least 30%.
The VA compensation table is denominated in US dollars; it is not a country-specific living allowance for the Philippines. Budget separately for exchange-rate movement, bank charges, housing, health care, visas, and emergencies. The earlier sample budget is not a verified current cost-of-living quote. Children in this example are under 18. School-age adult children, dependent parents, spouse Aid and Attendance, and SMC require different tables or added amounts. Do not use a veteran-alone rate as the spouse-and-child rate.
A monthly rate does not establish a retroactive award. For each full payable month, subtract compensation already paid from the amount VA determines was due. Split the calculation at rate changes, changes in eligible dependents, or staged ratings. Your decision letter controls the effective-date explanation and review instructions.
