Both resorts publish expanded-access categories for veterans with VA-documented service-connected ratings, Purple Heart recipients, former POWs, and approved primary family caregivers. Their pages specify accepted credentials. This can include a 0% service-connected rating. Eligibility is permission to request a stay, not an available room or a promised rate. Check current reservation windows, identification, guest sponsorship, cancellation rules, and room category directly.
The Salute to Our Veterans program gives honorably discharged veterans an opportunity to stay during January and September, subject to availability. The resort requires a DD214 showing honorable discharge. This is a seasonal route for veterans who do not otherwise have year-round eligibility. A Shades of Green stay does not automatically qualify you for Disney Military Salute tickets. Lodging and theme park ticket rules are separate.
Edelweiss states that the 2018 expanded authorization does not include that resort. Retirees and honorably discharged veterans with a documented 100% service-connected disability should review its specific eligibility and ID requirements. Dragon Hill Lodge has appeared differently across resort eligibility summaries. VCC does not treat a lower rating as confirmed Dragon Hill eligibility. Obtain written confirmation from the resort for your exact status before booking flights.
