Military RV parks and campgrounds

Find the right directory

Army MWR maintains a state-by-state camping and RV resource that includes other services. Navy MWR lists recreational lodging, RV sites, and cabins. Air Force FamCamps, Marine Corps recreation areas, and Coast Guard sites publish their own rules. Use the VCC directory to shortlist locations, then confirm directly. Published inventory counts and nightly prices from older articles are not reliable booking quotes, so this guide does not repeat them as current.

Check fit before checking price

Ask about your rig length, hookups, accessible facilities, pets, arrival hours, seasonal closures, and whether reservations are accepted. Some parks use first-come rules while others have patron-priority booking windows. Maximum stays, required breaks between stays, and extended-stay exceptions vary. Never plan full-time housing around an informal report that a stay limit is not enforced.

Compare the complete trip cost

Include fuel, tolls, laundry, propane, site fees, booking fees, and a commercial campground backup. A lower nightly rate can be outweighed by a long detour or a required move. Keep your eligibility documents and gate-registration information accessible. Expanded recreational lodging access does not guarantee that every campground's public website is up to date.
